The college is built on a picturesque ten acre of land on Namchi-Damthng road. The college was affiliated to North Bengal University until the establishment of Sikkim Central University in 2007. It offers two year B.Ed programme.

The institution is managed by Sikkim Jesuit Society, a unit of Darjeeling Jesuits of North Bengal. The college was started on the request of the government of                       Sikkim. The land is a gift from the Govt. of Sikkim. The B.Ed. College was inaugurated by the Governor of Sikkim on 5th July 1994.

In the past 21 years, 1956 students have graduated from the institution. Many are absorbed into government and private schools of Sikkim. At present the college has an intake capacity of two units,100 students. The B.Ed. programme comprises three areas. 1) Perspectives in Education 2) Knowledge and Curriculum 3) Curriculum and Pedagogic Studies. Students are encouraged to adhere to Jesuit maxim ‘Magis’ which means the more and better. This helps students to learn more and perform better in their lives.
